I tried to google, but did not get amy help.

Im on a indoor grow, and its starting to get winter here, with a massive cold front coming the next few days, so i was thinking of changing my lights on to night, amd lights of to day.

Question is just, do i give plants longer day or night to get to the change?

Plants are still in early veg, day 20-30

I don't get the question. You go to 12 on and 12 off. So even between the two.

I personally just make the change when I feel like it. One day they get 18 hrs of light, the next 12,

This has long been sorted, so I am all fine now, but let me clarify. So lights were switched to 12 12 for flowering , lets say lights on 6 am and off at 6 pm. But the winter was harder than other years, and between lights off temps dropped to much, so I decided to switch lights on from 6 pm to 6 am. So that lights (and heat) would be on during the night. Hope this clarifies.
