Is it bad to change the day/night ratio during the veg cycle ? I'm running at 18/6 but want to go 20 or 24 for more growth. PLeease I want to do this asap if it's no harm. If not is there a good reason for it apart from stress ? I mean it ain't flowering yet.
Thanks in advance.

I don't see where increasing the amount of light during veg would hurt. I could be wrong so you may want to wait till someone more experienced chimes in.:blsmoke:

Thanks Cajun. I'll be a bit more patient - I think I've learned how by dealing with these plants - but at least I have one's opinion. Always helpful knowing that most of the people here have more exp than me.

Yeah you can change it during veg. I went from 24/0 to 18/6 without any problems. There are a couple of theories on the extra light though. One is that the plants can (and will) utilize 24 hours of constant light. The other theory is that because the plants have been growing outside under 18/6 for... well, ever that it's in their genetic make-up to only utilize 18 hours of lighting. My theory? Diminishing returns. But to answer your question, you should be fine switching from 18/6 to 20/4. If you want to change it more than that I'd suggest doing it gradually over the course of a week up to 24/0. Just my suggestion.
