Don't know, how high above the plants is the 400w

As a rule of thumb a 400w should be 12" above the plants

Well the plants are small in veg so 14" is about right, I would leave the light at that hight for a couple of weeks, let the plant grow 3-4" before lifting the light

you have to more carefull when the plants are young, also plants this small in 2ltr pots can go 5-7 days before watering again, overwatering is the most common mistake new growers make at this stage

As young as those plants look I'd run it @ 18-24" above to keep from burning them. Til they get about 8-12" tall then move it to 12" above em for the rest of the time.

Yeah, I'm afraid that I May have over watered. I had read that you don't have to fill the pot when the plants are small so I just covered the surface but didn't reach the surface. Or I may have underwatered and the roots are stretching but not getting enough water because I'm not pouring until runoff

Its up to u but if the lights too far above the plants they will strech and become weak, they look like they have 3 sets of leaves so there not seedlings

Good luck

To help your plants grow quick, you want to use a swamp cooler
as you plants love really high humidty(60-80) ,light and heat ( 33-36c)
In early to mid flower
Low humidty can dry the leaves and do the plants a lot of dammage at this stage

so if you humidity is lower than 40 keeping the light 18" above the canopy would be good
and keep the temp under 30c if you can
