Light doesn't fit tent!

I'm a long time lurker and first time grower and have hit a bit of a speed bump in my setup. Long story short is that I was initially going to grow in a closet so i bought a light and started setting up a room. I was planning on running a T5 for veg and flowering with a 250w because heat will be a concern. Fast forward to last week and I have 1 feminized Royal Cheese freebie that has already popped and I'm waiting for it to sprout up. I unfortunately had to change plans mid setup because of security issues and grow in a GL60 tent. Well my damn T5 won't fit in my newly setup tent.

Now I'm faced with a plant that's starting to sprout and the T5 placed at an angle in the tent to at least have some H.O. light source. I don't really have a specific question but wanted to run this by you guys for some much needed advice. I've got 300 to finish this setup (which includes needing a thermometer/hydrometer/ fan and filter) so I'm thinking of picking up an eBay special in the deals thread that would consist of a 250w hps in a cool tube and a fan and filter combo to rid me of smell.

I also would like to know if I could still veg in the closet and then flower in a more smell proof area such as my tent? I know that this has been asked before as I've read it a couple times but because of my situation I didn't know if a different answer would pop up. I am also considering selling the T5 to a growing friend of mine.

The grow is happening all organically using Subs soil recipe and compost teas from the vermicomposter btw.

Lol a while back I grabbed a new tent along with fans, filters ect ect only to find out it was a bit to small-I just said screw it and grabbed another one.two tents are better then one anyways.

honestly man, in my opinion youd be best off getting a 400watt from Amazon, believe it or not you can get a 400 watt with timer an hangers an everything there for like 130ish.. a filter fan combo for 100ish and a lacrosse indoor out door hygrometer thermometer for 25... should be real close to your price range, i just setup a tent under a very similar budget... And on the veggin in the closet part, im using a closet as a veg room and a tent as a bloom just like your talking about as we speak an it works perfect... I almost sound like a damn amazon rep but you can get a small t5 there for like 25$ too... 40-50 for a 2 light one I think... Id avoid Ebay as that was my initial ideal as well, but it ends up costing more and its not quite as direct you know?

Invest in a quality fan and filter, look on craigslist for a 250 or something. Put your plant obviously on the side where the fixture is lowest. Worst case you go buy yourself some cfls for the meantime......good luck!

CFL's work good for veg. Vegging in the closet and flowering in the tent should work fine as long as there's room.

Just veg and flower under your 250 hps in the tent.

Make sure to get a 19" cool tube if you go that way or it won't fit in your tent. I'm running a 400W in a 2x2x4 in a cool tube and it's pretty awesome.

Thank you all for the replies and recommendations, I'm going to do a bit of research on fans and filters and order my light as well, it sounds like some have the same situation as me.
