Light During Sleep Time

Hello RIU Community!

First, thanks to the site and all it's awesome members. I am a repeat grower but it's been 10 years since my last grow. I ordered some Indica Chitral and I am on day 53, 15 days into flowering.

I germinated 14 seeds and have come through with 4 females that look great. My issue is that this is uber secret. My wife has no idea that I have four plants in our crawl space. I know, I know... Not a good idea to keep something from the wife but this is my one and only secret love that I don't share with her.

Anyway, due to secrecy, my windows to visit/care for my girls have to be well planned. A couple of times I have had to run down there for a quick water during their sleep time. The light is only on for two/three minutes at a time and it's only happened twice. My question is am I doing harm to mr grow cycle by doing this? By the way, I am running on 19 cfls and 2 floro's.

Thanks again to the harass site and my four girls looks great so far. I LST them and have 4-10 colas going for the different plants!

I can tell you that you're going to herm up your plants if you keep doing whatever you're doing :)

if your flowering, yes, that can definetley cause them to hermie and/or prolong flowering. like the guy above said, look into green lighting, the bulbs are like 1-2 bucks at dollar stores or kmart or wherever. just look for a green party bulb and your good to go my friend......

Thanks guys, this site is really great for setting us noobs in the right direction. I will definitly check into green lights and plan my maintenance times better.

green light definelty works it DOESNT harm your plant during dark phase. BUT ANY OTHER LIGHT WILL! Be careful and happy growing

on a kinda unrelated topic-does your wife smoke or no? does she know you smoke? I'm just wondering, lol. kudos on keeping her in the dark on the whole thing this far in, you are the only one who needs to know about the grow. if no one knows then no one can accidently let something slip to someone and no one can fuck your plant up thinking they are doing the right thing and helping you out ive seen it happen so many times here, lol. on some of them though ya gotta wonder if it really was someones roommate or whatever who messed it up or if the person asking is just not willing to say that they made the mistake.

The smell travels, especially late in flowering.. She cant be that ignorant.

When you really think about it, the plants grow outside just fine. Go out at night and tell me its 100% dark. Its not you have the moon and the stars all giving off some small amount of lights. Now if your going into your grow room and flipping on your 1000k HPS to work by thats gonna screw shit up. If you using a 40 watt incandescent bulb for 2-4 minutes you should be fine, but like has been said your better off using a low wattage green light. If you don't have a green light, keep it to dim lights with very low lumen output and you should be fine.

Ahh you have to treat them like Mushrooms
feed em lots of shit and keep em in the dark.

Green light yes
Cycle will become after 3 days in a row if light interruptus happens 36 hours continuous she takes it in as the cycle.

Yes, she is going to smell like Pineapple's armpits if they were to have "the ol' lady says" about 4 weeks into flowering. I hope you are giving lost of P and K lower N for Flowering

if you cant get a carbon filter or something like that to deal w/the smell look into this shit called ona gel, ive seen lots of people who do and it must be good cuz no opinions/reviews ive seen were negative.
