Light Green Inside Bigger Buds ?

Just curious why the inside of some of the bigger buds I have harvested is light green ?

Happened 2 grows ago, and I got quite a bit of bud rot...I lowered the humidity on grow room but the inside is still a lighter colored green....

Is this normal ? Am I at risk for mold ? Is it ok to smoke the lighter colored inside bud ?

Should I break them down further for drying, and put them on the screen rather than the string ? (pic shows buds drying on string)

thanks, SC

that bud pic shows the outside of the bud while the next pic shows the inside of the same bud

You have some pretty fat buds there. It looks like they havent completely dried yet. Usually takes 4-7 days. Get air circulation going just not directly on the buds. Also perhaps you could have went longer on the grow and they would have darkened up. Was it this batch that got rot?

Those buds are not ripe that's why its the light green inside...should of left them another 2 weeks or longer imo...u learn from your mistakes...happy growing

no previous batch got bud rot but my humidity levels during flowering then were 80+RH and higher ! I've dialed it down into the 40s now....

Was an 8 week strain that I let go for 11 weeks, ouch !!!! I grew using cfls...I wonder if that's part of the reason why those insides didn't finish ?

here's a pic of the main cola:

dang....that would have meant 13 weeks on an 8 week strain....ouch....

Since they did not finish any idea how they would smoke if they are even smokable at all ?

I also had a possible cal/mag issue that I never took care of after 7 weeks....Figured it was an 8 week strain, and that there was no need to take care of it....Not sure if that played an issue or not with them not finishing completely.

here's a pic of some of the leaves:

They're utter garbage, and will ruin your lungs. Send them to me so i can dispose of them properly before they do harm to anyone :bigjoint:

But for real, those actually look pretty fire, and I don't see any budrot there, I would label those 110% smokable once they cure!

Also it's good you pulled them, I can see male flowers. If you kept em goin' any longer you coulda wound up with seeds.

Wow ! Nice job with the photo editing and blowing that up ! What kind of software did you happen to use ? Nice job even catching that in the first place !!

I was wondering what those little things were ...I thought that maybe they were just dried leaves or something.....

So you say they were male flowers...Is that was a banana is ? My plant hermed at the end ?

Haha thanks, I wish I had some cool multimedia answer but all I did was download the picture, right click to edit, and cropped it. Once it was cropped it was small enough to display on the page at 100% so it looked blown up but that was just the natural resolution you posted it at hehehe. And yeah, that's what people call bananas, often times they are in little clusters that look remarkably like the little bundles of bananas you buy. I wouldn't worry too much about it, a lot of plants will throw a couple nanners right at the end when they sense themselves dying without having been pollinated. Often times they are sterile and don't even produce pollen, which given that your buds don't look seeded at all would be my guess as to the case this time.
