Light Leak Question..

Alright so I just finished making my box because I got my seeds today (yay) I looked up info on germination and they all said that the seeds have to be in darkness. So i checked my box and I think i have some light leaks in my box.

I can't find really good info on light leaks anywhere! It seems awfully important though because you can get hermies when you have light leaks in the flowering stage right? So here are my questions

1.How would I check if I have light leaks or not? (stupid question but I really want to know!)

2. How do you guys take care of light leaks? (for all you pros out there :]) I have a huge black plastic thrash bag covering my box right now haha

I'm using an old nightstand as a grow box. I cut out pieces of cardboard to make little foldable doors in the front, and i think this is the cause of the light leaks :(

3. How do I take care of the light leaks from the intake and exhaust fan! nylon pieces? pipes? no clue :(

HELP A BRO OUT ! :-?

- seeds do not need to be in total darkness, just out of the light. Only flowering requires total darkness.

- check if you can see any light coming out of your box in a dark room.

- intake and exhaust must go around at least one 90 degree turn in direction to block light If you were to use pipes, get two 90 deg. elbows and you will see what I mean. You can build a light-blocking "turn" with just about anything.

Well kinda common sense, guess that's why I posted my first comment that way. People have to at least put some sort of effort into researching their problems. Light leaks are probably the least common issue around here, because it's pretty easy to figure out and fix if you just use your noodle.
