Hi peeps,
Ok Ive had a system setup for the past 2 years and has worked great until recently.
System is a 430watt sont-t bulb running from a 400watt ballast in a very small cabinet. Basic soil grows enough to carry myself all year no dramas. I change bulbs every 4-6 months depending on money at the time but last attempt something changed. ... until
About 7 weeks into flower, everything was going great guns and couldnt of been happier, open it up the next day and boom they where DEAD.
It litterally happened over night, all leaves went crospy and brown, plant lost all its weight and died. Now I know nothing bad happened as in water or such so i was thinking something happen with the light/ballast to cause excessive heat. So I started again, got seedlings up and running, put them in the cabinet with the light about 3 feet away and within a day or two they are dead as well, same thing leaves browned, no/little growth so it quite obvisously a heat issue.
Now to my question. I obviously wanna fix this but what is it? Is it the bulb or the ballast? I will be replacing and upgrading the fans while im at it anyways. Can a bad bulb cause exccess heat or a bad ballast do the same??
btw I cant get a decent temp reading in there, seem temp gauge is now snuffed it too.
