Light polution from a 'Natural Gas Top Vent Gravity Fed' heater

I am helping my friend design her grow room and she has a natural gas heater with a gas pilot. The flames at the bottom are not covered by the metal inside the heater and there is quite a lot of light leaking through the face panel. Should I convince her to get rid of this heater or will the light from the flames have no effect? Or shall I just tin foil the bottom section to block most of the light?

How close are the plants ts to the heater? I don't think it would cause a problem, maybe Hermie out a branch or two, but I don't think a pilot would cause much damage.

That's what she said too at most just hermie a branch lol They are pretty close to it. I think I will try to put a black piece of metal in front to absorb some light.

Unless the plants are right next to it then no problem. If the plants were close enough to cause an issue then it would heat damage. Not light stress.

In the winter i sometimes just let my burner run all night, same thing, never had a seed n I run 12kw.

I used a piece of Aluminum foil, pulling it taught I closed the inspection door on the foil.. Unbelievably it killed the light completely.

Minimum lumens to invoke a response from a plant = 3000

lumens from a pilot light = 1

CO2 from a pilot light = priceless

I have electric start on my co2 generator.
