Light Proximity

Exactly how far to you want your cfl's from your ladies? I have heard 1-2 inches or 2-4... doesnt seem like much but that could be 2 to 4 times the distance. so im curious if it is really 2" or anywhere within those parameters will be fine but 2" is better?

It all really depends on how hot your bulb is. With a fan blowing directly on my cfl clone/veg box lights, the bulbs are cool to the touch. But all that heat has to go somewhere, right. I've noticed that the heat from the bulb is dispersed into the ambient air, resulting in higher temps and sometimes lower humidity. That's just my experience with cfl's. Good air movement equals closer bulb/foliage proximity.

I agree. I think what he is trying to say is that you want them as close as you can get it without harming the plants
