Was wondering if I should go with a lumatek 250 w with a cool tube or another brand that would possibly be cheaper?

Are those lights from ebay any good? I was really wanting a lumatek and a cooltube, but with a budget of 390$ I'm not sure I could afford the lumatek, tent,. filter and fan.

So do you think this will be almost as good as a lumatek? is it because lumateks are digital that makes them more efficient and cool to run ect? Is this a super cheap model? I hear whatever you buy, you can danm sure bet it's made with chinese pieces so it seems like a digital is a digtal, this ballast/cooltube is definitely the most cost effective for my needs as I am in the process of designing a setup to run in a dr60. I want a 250w /w cool tube and adequate ventillation with a carbon filter. What is the optimal way to achieve this?

As far as name, is there any benefits to getting a lumatek over this ebay model? is this ebay model notorious or rated good?
Would a HTG model, with a cool tube be better or much more costly/ and or not better?

thank you for the help, i greatly appreciate it as I am trying to quit thinking about this as it has been on my mind for the last 3 days straight

what about this one? How does this one compare to the one that gopherbuddah mentioned?

Bonzi lighthouse, I'd like to go with a cooltube setup. but don't know which one I should get that goes with a 250w hps. Can someone help me?

HTG supply has one, but once you add the cool tube, the price increase and I'm not sure about the quality of htg as ive heard some say they have fans in there ballasts

The beauty of the CMH bulbs is that they don't need to run in a cool tube, and because of that you don't filter out the UVB.

I run the 400w CMH setup in a 2x2 Seceret Jarden

I guess I could go with HTG supply, but then I have to add on a cooltube type reflector that will cost extra.

which htg 250 light should I go with? why is the agromax more than the digital?

and lastly, what kind of fan system should i need for venting a 250 through a carbon scrubber. Because I decided not to go with the lumatek 250w hps w/th cooltube I have a bit of extra cash that can be used for a qualuty fan and filter.
I'd like to get a fan that is SUPER quiet, and recommendation?

HTG specializes in lighting, they have there own brand. Therefore they can provide lower prices for comparable products. I have used both there digi and magnetic.

For a 250, a small inline 4" should be sufice, depending on your grow room air intake temps.

my grow room is going to be a secret jardin dr60 which has the dimensions of 23.75"x 23.75"x63
because budget seems to be a real concern for me, i may even go with a 150 watt hps w/th cooltube added on for extra from htg supply

that way I can get the most from my light, and have some money left over for a carbon filter / queit fan, hopefully.

Additional info would be great before I get started and make a purchase! thanks,

having a hard time still deciding between the different ballasts. I notice on htg supply the cool tube is cheaper if you buy it as a package. Anyone know where I can find the dimensions of the htg supplys cool tube esque reflectors?

One thing you want to consider when getting lighting, fans and any other high price gear is service and warranty, so e-bay and craigs list may not be best option. Now don't get me wrong, if i were buying a roll of mylar, i might look on ebay, ect.

Dude I posted your answer (with links) above.

I have 2 of the exact same tent as you and in one of them I run the exact set up posted above but in the 400w version.

I'm doing a CMH vs HPS comparsion over at riddlem3

really needing help picking a hps 250w w/th cool tube for my dr60 with 23.75"x 23.75"x63 specs. I'm also going to need a fan that can exhaust the heat through the cooltube and out of a carbon filter. My Budget is 390
