I have two plants coming up and starting to grow second set of leaves. I was wondering if my lighting is fine? I have a grow light that is just a big bulb from walmart that puts off alot of heat (used just for warmth)keeping it about 75-80 degrees. Im using one CFL per plant each is in a clamp lamp and 1200 lumens 19W is that good enough?Im a new grower and in a 2x4 space indoor in soil

The more light/wattage the better. keep your temps around 74-76F and you are golden.

There are tons of resources available to learn about lighting. Youtube has a lot of great videos on small micro grows. You will want 5000 lumens per foot at least. . Those bulbs will not likely produce any meaningful buds. You will probably just have 2 very very tall stretchy stalks with one set of leaves at the top.

First, ditch the blue bulbs. lessen your space . 2x4 is actually a big space. Make it 1 x 2 and as tall as you can to disperse heat.. Then rig up 8 x 26w cfl's without burning down your house. Build a reflector. Use 4 x 2700k (redish) and 4 x 6500k. The 6500k can be difficult to find, but GE makes them and Walmart usually has them. Read the label. GE makes better bulbs than Walmart brand in my opinion.

Once you invest in all of this equipment use it for a few weeks then throw it out or use the bulbs around your house. Now go buy a 150w HPS all in one lamp. Finish your first grow. Give the weed to your buddies because it won't be that good. Then give that light to your friend and tell him he can grow his own weed and go buy a 400w HPS with adjustable power, a good hood, a good inline fan and carbon scrubber and gorilla tent. Throw some good nutrients and Fox Farms soil into the cart with some perlite, a ph meter, a water filter, assorted hardware and some duct tape. Finish setting up your farm and then wait for either your mom or your landlord to find it and demand you get rid of it all. Go to the dispensary and buy some good weed. Kick back with your friends :) Hahaha

I'm just busting you balls a little, but this is how we all start. Welcome to MJ growing. Do some reading and figure out how to rig up and cool 8 cfl's. Invest in good soil.

Good luck.

Read this for starters.

Maybe some nice 23w cfls. I think at least one should do the trick. Keep it real far away for the duration of flower though. You don't wanna burn those tops! At least 3 feet away.

What Im gonna do is use 3 23 watt CFL bulbs in the middle of the two plants then during 12/12 im gonna add three.more lights over the second plant with some socket splitters and lower the wattage in the lights to the next level lower.

You don't really need any more than 12 watts per square foot.

Nah. That's just a rumor. Lumens are a myth. All you need is 23w per sq. ft.
What my setup is is 2 plants with two clamp lamps 4 in above each and the bulbs are CFL 19 watt 1200 lumens each. Then about 10 inches away is
GE Lighting 44848 65-Watt pointing at the plants.
