light underneath???

I just had an idea, and was hoping maybe someone could chime in.

I have a 4x4 scrog, 1 plant, the canopy is very thick, virtually no light really gets to the bottom! since I'm 2 weeks from harvest it wouldn't do much good now but maybe for next round, do you think it would be worth the extra heat and cost, to run some type bar light or something underneath? or would that just give me less popcorn and not really worth it?

here's the lady to give an idea! the pic that shows the under side, is from very beginning of flower, sorry nothing recent of the bottom side!CM190214-185802003.jpg 20190114_050458.jpg

I could easily throw in a few t5's or maybe red spectrum, or really anything, could easily hang it upside down from the Scrog itself! just a matter if it's worth the cost and trouble!

I have done this before with really large plants. I also side light. The side lighting really helps, it's just more canopy area then. The bottom light helped but not quite as much as the top. I highly recommend adding more QUALITY light to unlit areas. I used LED's lights under and between each of my large plants. The extra yields on my bottoms were minimal compared to the sides so I stopped because they were just in the way and using more watts than the extra nug was worth. I am sure it could have been better if I had better LED lights those were just cheap chinese red led's, 90 watts from the wall. I have a buddy that used 400 watt HPS lights under the plants, with upside down batwing reflectors. Those really helped but he complained of the extra heat and that he had to move them if he was going to spray his plants.

I don't think I have any issues with canopy light, I'm in a 4x8 tent, but only running half, but in the half I have a 1k hps, plus 2 led full sprectrums around 300w I think not sure, seeing as the 1k in a 4x4 is already pretty over powered I don't feel I have any lacking on the ends, or sides! the pics and videos aren't using my normal lights just some veg light I threw in temporarily just to get a good video.

only place that doesn't really get light is underneath but i usually trim off and lollipop up to the Scrog bc of this! if i used bottom light, and didn't lollipop them, would it be worth it, or just more of a hastle?

also this should be my last cycle under these lights may be getting some cobs built or even some strips, so for sure next cycle, there won't be any side lighting issues, between the spread of the leds, and reflection of the tent! I just can't see that as an issue!

Well if you don't think you will use them next cycle I wouldn't invest in anything new but if you have some lights laying around why not put them there and get a little extra yield from those bottoms.

Would you mind sharing some more pics of your tub set up with the integrated SOG? I want to do that with a dolly under it. Have one for each 315cmh that I can roll around. Very nice set up BTW.

Cannabis doesn't use light for photosynthesis from the bottom of the leaves.
I think your right. They don't use light on the under sides of the leaf. Have you ever seen one flipped over towards the sun? THE LEAF. 4+8 tents are sweet I would just put two 1000 watt single ended lamps in it. use the whole tent. MH bulbs during veg. than HPS during flower.
