Light went off

This morning i woke up to find everything was on in my room except for the lights. I have a galaxy switchable ballast, and a 400 watt metal halide in there that are usually on for 18/6. i was wondering if

a) if the unknown time of darkness ( possibly a few hours ) could have hurt my almost 3 week old seedlings.

b) if anyone knows if these ballasts have some sort of a reset time? like , if you unplug it you cant plug it back in for x amount of time?

Thnk you!

okay found out the reset time was actually because you arent supposed to " hot-fire" ballasts or CMH lights. I should have waited a wee bit loner i guess. Anyone konw if the dark may have had a detrimental effect on my plants?

Yeah I'm sure its fine. Eclipses of the sun don't cause plants to die all over the world. Or cloudy days.
funny i was thinking along these same lines just today. sometimes with the closet door off to help with temps, a lil light may seep in from the living room or what not, but not much, and only during bright scenes during movies usually. plus there is a drapery hung over it that is not transparent, but doesn't block more than 50% of the light or so. as i started to worry about it i thought about moonlight, things like that that may cast light unexpectedly on plants during their night hours and sort of calmed myself with that notion. i imagine the only thing you have to worry about in these situations is repetitiveness. don't let those lights do that all week and you'll be ok i bet =D
