I like the electric winch, also linear electric actuators would do the same with the added benefit of pushing the light up from below so the light can sit as close as possible to the roof.
You could also incorporate a common top pulley and a side pulley to bring cabling to the side as described above but with 1 linear actuator attached to wall to lift up and down.
