I got a 6' x 3'6" grow room, should i get a 1ooow hps or 2 600w hps. I hear that a 600w is better than a 1000w , is it ?

Can i use hps through out the entire plants life, or do i need both hps and mh ?

i'm using 250watt hps and my plants seem to be doing fine, i hear 400watt does the job good to, so i dunno how many plants you gonna have?

naw you can use hps in veg mh is better but hps will get the job done.
if you can get rid of the heat go 2 600

For ventilation im gonna instal a inline fan with a carbon filter, i want my stup ready by winter, so i can use the heat off the lamp for sumthin else

does reflectors really matter, im thinkin about gettin the quad ray reflector with a 1000w system

go for the thousand watter but you need to find a way to get rid of the heat
get a mh conversiion bulb that you can stick right into that hps socket util you flower then switch to hps, but yes you can go all the way with hps

agreed. 600's are the most efficient use of watts, 600w around 160lumens per watt, 1000w around 145lumens per watt. i use 1 600 in a space a bit smaller so 2 600's will light that area well with better spread of light and give a more even canopy of plants, as opposed to 1 1000watter especially if u r growing taller plants which may create shaded corners and yr plants growing closest to the 1 light will grow tallest. Try to get dual spectrum hps bulbs, theyre still mostly red in spectrum but adjusted to give slightly more blue spectrum making them more suitable for veg, but standard hps will still veg yr plants no problems.:peace:

Here are the advantages of having 2 600 W HPS. 1) your light distribution would be wider because you have more sources of light. 2) @ 3 ft a 600 puts out 10,000 lumens where @ 4ft a 1000 watt also puts out 10,000 lumens...I myself do not go lower than 3 ft with my air cooled 600 watters; I could if I had a light mover 3) in terms of energy consumption 600 is more cost effective than 1,000.

Ok ima chck out 2 600's. I see mh and hps bulbs all in one i think is that bulb what i should get . Will i get better rsults with the two diff bulbs or will hps do just about the same, or its a big diff

really?? I only use my 600 for bloom but i keep my aircooled 600 no higher than a foot above my tops, thats one of the main advantages of air cooled lighting, being able to place yr light much closer without burning...

Yeah 3ft sounds high as fuck esp if you git a cool tube.

yea provided you have good extraction 2ft above the tops would be about right without air-cooled reflectors, using air-cooled u have to bear in mind that u lose a small percentage of yr lumens through the glass. 3-4 feet away i would only do with young seedlings, and gradually bring it down say half an inch every day, during bloom you need that intensity to get fat tight hard nuggies!
