Lighting Confusion

I'm getting ready to start my very first indoor grow and I need some advise with lighting. Can someone please put in simple terms if I can use CFL's with this grow. I have read many articles here on rollitup but u guys just confuse me more everytime I read a new article. I am getting ready to start growing lowrider 2 which finishes in 60 days, can I use CFL's. I understand Wal-mart sells the lights but I'm confused as to what I'm suppose to look for. Anyone have any advise on a good soil that can be obtained locally for my grow as everyone seems to think miracle grow is a no no.

Thanks

get scotts potting soil and use cool white and warm white cfls and as many as u can fit
in you area

CFLs will work

Buy the 'cool blue' ones for vegging, the 'warm white' for flowering. The more/bigger, the better. For soil, don't get the kind that 'feeds for months' or whatever. Get something organic. Get some perlite as well, maybe some blood meal.

Get as many as you can afford really, like I said the more the better. Higher the lumes, the better

I will be nice. cfls can be used I guess if its your last resort. They will cost as much as a400 watt hid light and yield will be a fraction but you can use them. You will need at least 6 per plant of the store kind get at least 65 true watt cfls. You will need blue and red spectrum bulbs.I personally would suggest a 400 watt light from High Tech Garden Supply which would be better , cost less, and be a lot safer

Are u saying that with I could get away with buying just one 400 watt hid light from High Tech to replace all the cfl'S?

Dont now about you guys , but in the uk we have 250 watt cfl's and 125 watts.
You can buy them complete with the e40 fitting and a reflector.
It's better than using say 8-36watt cfl.
Cost around 40.00 :peace:

Yeah I can get cfls in actual wattage of 85,100,125,150,200,225,250,and 300 watts range from $15 to80 for the bigger one from my suppliers
