You should really start with something a lot smaller! If and when you get "good at it" and want to "upsize", you can always use your smaller set-up for Moms, clones or seed germination.I'm wondering what would be the best way to light a 7' x 6' x 7' room would be. I was thinking about 1 1000w or 2 600w's, but I'm not sure what would be better for the space.
u'll never be dissapointed with either, more lux's outta 2 600's, but higher start-up cost, with cool tubes for sure, imo waste ur time flowering with anything less than 300W. i have 3400, plan on 4000W soonI'm wondering what would be the best way to light a 7' x 6' x 7' room would be. well then u'd already be getting an extra 2 sqft if u had 2 600's instead of 1 1000, why add 3? dont get me wrong, more light is always better, but i think he wont have space for 3Answer: A 1000 watt will illuminate a 4x4 well. A 600 watt will illuminate a 3x3 well. You're looking at either 2 1000's or 3 600's.
I recommend 3 600 watt.
dont need to convince me, i have 3.4k covering a 8 x 10' area and big ass plants. had 2 1000's on movers, wasnt impressed, so ditched the mover and added more lights, cool tubes of course, still no shady areas. bigger setup. and nothn but HID's except for my clonerWell the aircooled reflectors I have my 600's in are 1x2. One foot Wide and 2 feet long. So there will be enough space.
I chose the 600's over the 1000's because more sources of light equates to less shade. More leaf area being utilized. 600's are also more efficient than 1000's lumen/watt wise. I would always prefer to use 3 600's rather than 2 1000's. 1800 watts doing a better job than 2000 watts. Now that's whats up.
Only downside slightly higher initial investment and slightly higher maintenance cost. However, in this specific field of gardening initial costs always seem irrelevant when compared to final profit.
Heh I'll have to check on the floats once n awhile. I'm veggin them for 2 months it wont be too hard to swap them over to my bigger flowering buckets. Just turn the bucket over with one arm and grab the trunk with the other. Then stick in the bigger bucket.dont need to convince me, i have 3.4k covering a 8 x 10' area and big ass plants. had 2 1000's on movers, wasnt impressed, so ditched the mover and added more lights, cool tubes of course, still no shady areas. and nothn but HID's except for my cloner
looks like we use the same control unit in our grows tho. headsup, those float switches stick like a bitch, keep them clean. Then u must have 2 control units, 1 for veg 1 for grow, then switch the buckets/plants for flower. might be a bitch if they've veg'd for over 3 weeks
