Lighting forum?

I haven't looked but I'd be surprised if this wasn't requested already.

Can we have a dedicated Lighting forum? Then have HID, LED, CFL/flouro &, "other" sub-categories? Or, At the very least can we have a dedicated hps/mh/hid sub-forum? Or some other such work around?

More and more people are posting in the wrong forums (ie: hps posts in the led sub forum; etc) and when even told nicely they are in the wrong area, the flaming starts. They argue "It says LED and other lighting..." - And they are correct. It does say that. It is very confusing for many newbies.

Anyway, Just thought I'd ask.

PS - Who mods the LED forum? We have people asking for sticky's and asking threads to be moved to no avail.

Easier just to change the text so that under the main indoor growing forum it states growing under HPS/MH lights.

But in reality i think it's probably useless, regardless of whether there is a specific forum for something, people are always starting threads in the wrong forums because it seems people these days are lazy ass bitches who just want bud to sell and can't be arsed to read for more than 20 seconds.

There will always be noobs using the wrong forum no matter how the forums are laid out. I've said it many times, but i often agree with the stereotypes, a hell of a lot of stoners are bloody retards. No wonder governments try and argue that smoking weed when young fucks with your head, certainly seems to be true in a lot of cases.

Understood, And I agree. But i was still under the assumption that mods were supposed to peruse the forums they mod? There are numerous threads with people asking for mod intervention with no reply.

While I agree it is simple to scroll down and bug potroast, or any of the other 4 mods of the forum, I just believe there should be an active one that, ya know, actually reads the posts they're modding.

True enough. But having the correct forums cuts down on it. I mean we have a spirituality, sports, music, technology and a bunch more forums. Why not have a lighting forum with more straightforward labeling and/or new correct sub forums? I mean, This is an MJ site before all else, no?

I mean, Seriously, Renaming a forum or adding a new sub forum is not even the slightest degree difficult.

Anyway. Like I said. Just thought I'd ask. Of all the things suggested this seems reasonable and needed, IMO.

(TBH, This is so easy and reasonable I'd be curious to learn from staff why this wouldn't be done?)

Thanks for your suggestion. What we have now is the Indoor Forum, which is growing under HID lighting. Then there are sub-forums for CFL and Fluorescent, and LED and all others. I think that pretty much covers it. I will add HID to the Indoor Growing description to better describe the differences.

I understand your concern that some threads are posted in the wrong forum, and those can be moved by a Forum Mod.

Thanks a bunch, those three additional letters in the description for indoor growing will at least solve some of the mis posts.

It's nice to know suggestions are acted upon.
