I am about to purchase a few CFLs but IDK if they will work. I was looking at 23W(100 equivalent) will 2 of them work on a plant that's inside? They are cool white bulbs BTW. I think this will work but IDK. Please help.

Jorge Cervantes said it best, and i quote

"CFLs produce very bright light with relatively low wattage. The best values are 55-65 watt bulbs. These bulbs are bright and inexpensive. Smaller wattages are less bright and very low wattage. Larger wattages are bright but more expensive."

I have grown with CFLs exclusively from seed to harvest. My experience with CFLs have lead me to "light, wispy, popcorn size buds" I was disappointed and ended up saving up and buying a 600w HPS grow light with digital ballast. It made all the difference in the world. My buds now are tight and dense. Just by putting that light in increased my overall yield by at least 30% over the CFLs only.

If you still insist on using only CFLs make sure that the lights are very close to the plant (1in - 2in) and the more you can put around the plant the better off you will be. Just dont expect amazing yields from CFLs exclusively.

This is my opinion and my personal experience with CFL lighting. I hope this helped.

i hear u want about 100 watts per plant, not equiv watts, so ude need about four of those 23s for 1plant. You could get a 150w hps/mh or something (think lowes has em cheap)

once again not true you can grow dank/dense buds with cfl's

problem is most folks don't properly understand how to use lights and totally ignore the other conditions of thier garden, a good grow is the sum of all parts

pic is a 21 inch tall plant that yielded 47.2 grams with just 97 watts of light
