Lighting Question For Mothers and Clones

Did a search of the forum and found some information on T-8 Fluorescent lighting for mothers. My question is this, would one 48" long 4 bulb T-8 Fluorescent light be enough for 3 mother plants which I will attempt to top and clone to keep them medium in size? I also was going to alternately place a cool bulb and then a warm bulb.

As far as the clones go, I was going to have 4 at a time. Would two 48" long fluorescent lights (alternately place a cool bulb and then a warm bulb) hanging overhead be enough for the clones.

The other half of my room will be a brief few weeks of veg 18/6 then into the 12/12 cycle. 1000 watt HPS.

Thanks for any input.

it will work but you should consider t5 if they sell the fixtures and bulbs. t8 is ok but it puts out less lumens. it is uneccessary to install a warm 2700K light, they do not need it in veg, use all 6700K cool bulbs. you can get a 200w 4ft x 4 bulb t5 on craigs list for around $80, you may want to consider that.

If you only need 4 clones at a time then you only need 1 mother. If you want 2 then that's fine as well. You don't need a seperate light for the clones. They will fit under the same light as the moms. Or you can get a CFL for them till they are rooted and then stick them next to the moms.

no no no no no no no no no no a hundred thousand times NO! go get a 4'x8 bulb t5 HO fixture (not VHO, waste of money) and it will be perfect for your 4 moms and the light spilling out the side is enough for the clones. if you listen to these nut jobs and use cfl's you'll end up with a bunch of spindly, weak and lackluster plants. buying all the fixtures and bulbs will cost you about the same in the end anyway since you would need 10+ cfls and that wouldn't even hold a candle to the t5 fixture. weak mother = weak clones = weak harvest. anybody who tells you to spend money on cfl's is obviously inexperienced in both REAL growing and equipment capabilities.

T5 is the way to go for everything veg and clone. CFL will work for clone, but should definitely not be used during veg if you're looking for most efficient growth.

LMFAO!!! This clown again. Listen people...do yourself a favor and go check out this guys posts from the last 2-3 days. He has been in 5 arguments with 15 different people on 5 different threads. You be the judge. I think his information here speaks volumes to his stupidity. Ha actually told me yesterday that he was the BEST grower on this forum and that no on here knows half as much as he does.

The only thing I have to say is not all of these people are growing the way you /me are and are working with limited budgets. You really need to take that into account! I see your TRYING to give good advice but YOU must remember alot of these people are working on a shoestring!
