What size room?
what is cmh? ; google didnt work. ---- i've got some cfls, could i use those for veg and then do hps....
the point is, I cant afford to buy a MH and a HPS
im not trying to spend a whole lot and my grow space is a small closet.

a 250 to 400 watt system works well in most closet situations of a rough space of 2'x4',as long as you can ventilate the light,which is another consideration,as my fan cost me 180 beans...
do you have any knowledge as to what the yield difference would be?
and
if i were to go the solely cfl route, do you think that something as simple as this:

you could also use a HPS/MH switchable system,since you only have the one plant,and just switch between the bulbs,increasing the size and the yield,by going MH to veg and HPS to flower.

yea cfl's are great. i got a current cfl grow my self and is doing me good.
but if you was to go with a single bulb setup it would have to be a 400w hps because the hps is great for flowering, as to the mh is good for veg but not as good for flowering like hps
hps can also do a great job for veg as well so you really cant go wrong with the hps ya know?
