Lighting question

Just started growing and I have a question regarding lighting. Right now I am using an old fish tank light. It has 2 36w bulbs. I am planing on upgrading the light, but for now, am I better off using two white bulbs or one white and one actinic? (I have 2 white and one actinic, but only 2 sockets) BTW My plants just sprouted.

Thanks.

cool thanks. Turned out that one of the bulbs I though where all white was half and half, so I put that one in and the all white one in.

While I am on the topic of lighting, are florecents good enough for vegitative growth stage?

Yes, fluorescents are good enough for Veg growth as long as you keep them a couple inches away at all times. If plants start to stretch they need more light.

cool thanks. One was stretching so I moved the lights closer. For florecents how many watts do you need per plant for the vegitive stage?

Also what do you guys recomend for additives/food? I bought some miracle grow organic choice soil, but need to get some additives. I am geting a PH tester today.
