ok guys here it goes ive been browsing the site for a couple months and have recently set up a grow op similar to Al B i have 5 mothers under a 400watt HPS 24hrs light i have a tray where theres between 30 and 40 clones ok so here comes my dilema i have four 4X4 trays each one for two weeks of flowering i have a 1000watt HPS and i have a 600watt HPS on a 8ft light rail my question is should i put the 600watt over the first 2 trays which are weeks 0-2 and 3-4 so that it goes back and forth constently or so it stays over one tray at a time for 12 hr lght cycles and then have the 1000watt over the 3rd and 4th tray or should i put the 1000watt over trays 1 and 2 and have the 600watt moving back and forth over trays 3 and 4 any info would b greatly apreceated thanks

Without a diagram of your room and rail, I am going to say keep youp 1000w stationary and move your 600w if you are going t move one. Why not keep them both stationary and keep your smaller plants under the 600 and your largers ones under the 1000. When your small ones maute move them to the begger light and move a new batch under the 600. I would rotate the plants physically when they outgrow the light and the keep the light still.

i guess i just need to know if it would be better to have 1000watts over my first two trays which are weeks 0-2 and weeks 2-4 and have the 600watt on the light mover so its over tray 3 (weeks 4-6) for 12hrs then moves over tray 4 (weeks 6-8) for 12hrs. or the other way around so the 600watts is going over tray 1 and 2 and the 1000watt over trays 3 and 4

pics on the way

I see now. Move the 1000w then. Keep your 600w so you can lower it close to the young ones and move the big one. 1000w is need for a 4x4 space without a doubt.
