Lighting Question?

I have availabe space in my flower room under a 1000w hps. What I would like to do is take some plants from my veg room during the day and put them under the 1000w to get them bigger quicker. So basically what they would be doing is getting 1000w during the day and 250w at night. Will this hurt them if they go back under a 250w light at night?

no, they will be fine but i think that 1kw hps will be wasted on vegging plants as 2700k is the wrong type of photosynthetic active radiation , they will still grow fine but a large part of the energy your putting into that hps will be wasted, in my opinion but im stingey and my electricity costs shit loads so ....

Thanks man. I will be using the light regardless of if I put them in there or not. I was just looking for them to have a growth spurt.

Switch 4 bulb or 8 bulb T-5's. I did. I never regretted it. The veg is AWESOME. Much Much cheaper in the long run. It is worth the small investment.

in my grow room, almost all of my cfl lights are 2700k and that was by accident. but they have been working fine so i really dont see the prooblem most doom and gloomers reffer to "not the right spectrum, its not gonna work". well its been working for me and i'm on my 3rd grow with them

im not disputing that the plants grow under 2700k but that they grow alot better under 6500k, plants also grow under a 100w incandscents and on window sills but cfl's are far more efficient

i think you should be careful. this is a form of light stress, believe it or not. doing it once from veg to flower is minimal stress, but if you do it a bunch, and have a strain with more of the hermie trait, this type of stress could cause that hermie. thats my .02

I was going to do it for about 1 week. I am just going to keep them where they are. I don't want to stress them if I don't need to. Thanks for the help.
