Does HPS get hotter than MH?

you know ive heard the MH get hotter then HPS but i just got a 175 MH to go with my 150 HPS and side by side id say my HPS gets hotter even with glass over the HPS... So maybe its just me but id say HPS is hotter. 175 watt MH = 13-15,000 lumen 150 watt HPS = 17-20,000 lumen give or take.... so hps = more lumen = more heat...

I would agree based on experience. I can get my MH lights lower than my HPS without burning the plants.

I have to admit I always thought MH got hotter, but in my grow room, the HPS does seem to get hotter.
