Lighting Question

I have had my 3 bubbleicious under a 13 watt cfl for a while now and I have been told that the wattage needs to be bumped up to at least 23. However when I go to the store all the packages say something along the lines of "23 watt cfl replaces 100 watt" or "23 watt cfl = to 100 watt". Is this ok? I just dont want it to be too powerful. Thanks guys!

It's always confused me as well...and I'm still not sure!...but! I have a 250 watt CFL in 2x3 foot cupboard and that's not too bright. Somebody on RIU told me my bulb was "true" wattage....
If it's not too bright or hot I'd keep adding as many as possible.
Sorry I've had no technical help for you.

It sounds a lot doesn't it, but another 125w wouldn't hurt.
I've yet to hear any one with problems having too much light....but don't take my word for it! Please! I'd hate to see your post of frazzles plants next week! lol

Get a 250w hps so you can get a good harvest and avoid those softcock fluros you got.

That seems to be kinda inevitable for anyone who gets into growing their own don't you think? I started on CFLs for growth (250w) and bloom(400w). The day I put an HPS in....wow!!
Keeping the growth closet CFL because of the heat...and stuff...wish it was MH...

Hey dude, when you see lights in the store saying 23w=100w, that means they are energy efficient bulb, you want to go by the first number and not pay attention to the second. Try finding a 3 pack of 23w cfls they're cheap and they are what you need. I normally can find them at Canadian Tire or Home Hardware (Canada) for about 20$ a pack of 3. Hope I helped a bit good luck!
