Ok so i have a very limited space. My box is about 1 foot wide and 2 feet tall. I only plan on gorwing 1 LowRyder2 at a time. So i was thinking about 2 CFL's. Are CFL's thpse spiral bulbs. If yes than i would put 2 of them in there.

But i am worried about them heating up and starting a fire

Dose anybody know any bulbs that wont heat up or minimul heat :confused:

Dang! 2 foot height? Not much!. Pot will be 6", light (CFL) will take about 4-5" leaves just over a foot for the plant. (unless killer LST)

CFLs are the spiral style. General description of a CFl, is a floro that screws into a normal lamp socket.

I haven't grown the LR2 (kinda like the auto flowering aspect, but also like to tweak and tell when to flower and take clones)

I measured a CFL (right at the 90 degree bends back into the ballast) and got about 160F. I have burned leaves with a CFL. No fire, but the leaf sure didn't like it! Only one or 2 leaves lost. Further out to the 'tip' it was cooler. I didn't measure it, but could hold it in my hand, so less then 110F (ish)

I know its no great help, but at least a few tid bits of info.

Hope for all girlies for ya!

COOL!!! I'm a total tech head but LOVE ghetto stuff! ghettos stuff is SO innovative. KISS is great, just wish I could follow it!

12-16 inches? I might try some LR2. Heard good things about it, and its popular too.

Keep up posted!

Real wood takes about 300 degrees to catch fire. Its impossible to accomplish this with 2 CFLs. You may "burn" the box but it'll just turn black won't catch fire. Check out my CFL box, its got 12 23watt CFLs and 4 43watters. I had all the bulbs in for 72 hours and it didn't exceed 87 degrees. I've since removed 10 until my ladies are a little bigger :)

Then I'd suggest an intake(bottom) and exhaust fan(top) to circulate the air and keep your temps down. Keep a close eye on it for 2-3 days and make sure your not burning anything :)
