Lighting to Support Plants

Hey guys,

I have 5 4' double bulb florescent light fixtures. I believe they fit T5 bulbs, so 10 bulbs all together. All walls lined with reflective white bubble thermal bubblewrap. Any estimates on what kind of plant count this could support? I have about 100 seeds all together, all feminized. Trying to get an idea of how many I should grow at once and how many I should keep for round 2. Also have a 1000 LED array but I'm not sure if that would help any.

Thanks!

Haha but my question is in regards to the approximate number of plants this light setup could support..

I used 4 foot 2-lamp t8's on my last grow I found that each 2-lamp fixture was able to cover about 3 plants in 2.5 gallon pots I was doing a scrog so I wanted to allow a lot of space in between the plants.
T5's get a bit warmer than the T8's but I was able to get my lights right up on the plants within 2-3" and had no scorching.
The other thing you need to know is the type of lamps , you'll need 6500k(color temp) daylight type lamps for the veg period. I use Philips Daylight Deluxe 32watt T8's for my seedlings.
Led's; I am currently experimenting with and really know nothing about, you could possibly try an LED specific forum? .....still all new to me lol

Yes I have 6500k for veg and 2700k for flowering. 8 bulbs of each for a total 420 ish watts. Also have a 5' double tube fixture with tubes 1.5" in diameter.

I'll just throw all the lights in my grow space and throw in the 60 seedlings. We'll see what happens.

60 seeds is a real waste and not to mention a lot of maintenance. I would recommend about 12 plants.
Also, take into consideration the lights you have. Flouros are far slower than Mh/hps combo. I use Flouros for my veg period and they work..... just slowly.
Flouros like those for flowering will result in a really tiny yield .... so best store the seeds until you can get some better equipment.
You seem to have a good start , simply practice and experiment with this one.

Spicey8305 is right my first grow I used 5 T5 flouros and only yeilded an oz a plant. and I'm sure less the more you'll have i did 5. Best to get some mh/hps before attempting a decent harvest with good seeds. I would recommend no more than 10 if you are going to do it anyway.

With that size you can prolly grow 18 plants to a nice size about 10-12 inches with dense growth. In my log I grow 6 clones with a 4 bulb 2ft T5 HO fixture and I think they grew good up to about 12 inches but then started to stretch out more but its grows alot of plant. :weed:
