Lighting

Hi all,

I'm doing a first time grow in a small space at the side of my room, about 5x3x3.
I have a 400w hps and I'm having trouble with temps. Temp is going 80 and above when the light is on for a while. I don't have and fans and won't really be able to add any. Will my plants be able to survive this? Any help appreciated! :)

That small a room with an unvented 400 may work in the winter, but you gna have a hard time. Have you looked into a DIY cooltube? Not as good as a hood, but cheaper and smaller to hang up. I buy my computer fans online for about $3 each, the big ones. Actually, I got a new 6pack for spares even. You will have to get a pwr converter to run the fans. Walmart sells an adapter that also has usb power, for like 15$ . I run 3 big cpu fans off the one adapter.

90deg wont kill em, but Ive noticed plants kinda stall out above that. Also, leaf curling may become an issue. If the room is 90deg, whats your canopy temps? I never let my canopy temps peak 90, and you gotta keep wind blowing across the plants, to help cool the leaves. Whatever the light hit, can build heat if not fanned. Anyhow, best of luck to ya!
