Hey guys, I've got 3 16" x 5" air intakes at the bottom of my tent. I also have 2 10" duct openings. One on each side at the bottom front. The rectangle intakes have velcro panels to cover them, the duct openings have double-cinch drawstrings.
I set this up last night and currently have all 3 rectangle intakes open (10" ducts sealed). Air is flowing nicely with my 8" fan/scrubber, everything seems pleasant with slight negative pressure with one exception. There is way too much light coming out of the intakes. My first approach was to build light trap baffles out of cardboard boxes and then tape them to the outside of the intakes. I created my first one and while it works, they are clunky and look like crap. I mean very badly and I"m OCD when it comes to this stuff.
My question is can I just close up the normal intakes with the velcro flaps and then route some 10" flex ducting out of the intakes in a bend to trap light, they have black lined flex ducting so I'm thinking just one bend would cover it.
I calculated that 2x 10" ducts would provide me with 156 sq/in of intake. All three of the regular intakes provide 240 sq/in of space however they have a very fine screen on each of them so I'm thinking I'd be able to suck in roughly the same amount of air.
Here is a diagram. Basically air would from from the bottom of the tent (as originally intended with the normal intakes) to the top out of the scrubber.
What do you think?
