Me I built a box with 14 sockets for 23w cfl's and 2 70 hps and I change the light bulbs from daylight to soft for flowering. That's about 36000 lumens. Know that I am late in to flowering I can see were more light would be nice. The plants are about 30" tall and the bottoms are not getting enough light so I will harvest the top cola's then lower the light for additional harvest. Even with my small area I need to get it up to 400w or 600w.:peace:

those lights will be fine for now, you need a proper ballast to run that metal halide light though and they arent very cheap, for the cfls just get some aluminium reflectors at lowes, buy the bigger ones for like 10 bucks and get a y socket for each one, if two bulbs dont fit in each just do what i did and bend em

you want 6500K and/or 2700K CFLs, forget about that MH it will be 4100K and practically useless. Get a small 150 watt HPS.

Forget about haveing that many clf's madness.go for the 150 watt h.p.s this should be ok to get you started spend money on a fan next have the fan pointing up at the hps this will draw any heat away ,but a 150 watt light shouldn't produce that much heat.get the light has close has 6 ince max away from the tops of the plants.i would do a max of two plants realy one but try 2. Has long has the lights are close there is no reason that you sholdnt get a little ammount.sell the first crop and upgrade your lighting.i not one for telling folk to sell but if you can afford it get the highest watt hps you can afford. If you can't afford it get rid of the first crop to friends.

no I don't, you obviously didn't make the effort to even look at the attached chart (it's even in your damn quote )
your chart proves to be fairly unreliable, considering the last time i checked 4200k was the spectrum for the "full spectrum" fluoros, not the 'cool white', the cool white fluoros operate at 6500k . also the mh lights i have seen all operate at the 5500k spectrum, for growing, which according to "your chart" has a fairly high percentage of chloraphyll activity:?. i read your chart, last night before i made that post and i am still wondering just where you got the 4100k figure for the mh lights....

an "off the shelf" MH comes with a standard bulb (4100 K) as it's the cheapest and brightest (to the human eye) A true horticultural MH would be 6500 K to have the maximum efficiency.

hey, if it's working all you need is more of them then, more light = more weed. You've probably got a warm white (2700K) bulb which is a good all purpose spectrum.
