got a question that I cant find the answer to maybe I can get some help here. I just wrapping up my veg plants. i have them under 18 hour on and 6 hour off with a 600w mh cool hood. I have my system set up to run at night because its colder at night and the lights keep them warm. I have a question about flowering I have a hps light and was going to do 12 hour on and 12 hours off Im debating with the 24-36 hour darkness. My major question is since the plant needs 12 hours of dark would it be a better idea to switch my schedule and have my plants on in the daytime and off at night. The reason for the question is Im afraid with my current schedule it would be subjected to any light leaks from either the outside or the room thanks for your help

No keep it with light on at night if u worried about heat also use ur mh for first 2 week of 12/12 this will reduce stretch and give u Tigger nodes

thanks for the tip I am more worried about light leaks and my plant turning hermie then the heat because I can also turn on the heat higher at night. My main worry was that the light from the window would somehow leak into the tent. That is why I was considering puting the lights on within the 12 hours in the day to avoid any light leaks

I use a tent man and run at night due to very hot days u prob should block the window
and if ur tent has light leaks get a new tent

I live in a condo that faces south. My lights come on 19:00-07:00 so they're in darkness during the day. Beside a south facing window.
I do have a rolling blind that covers the top half of the window but it's still pretty bright and I've had no problems.

Tent should be light proof, thats why you buy a tent. Get inside the tent when the lights are off, close it, fix any obvious leaks, only have to do it once. My cheap ebay tent had no leaks other than the very bottom of the zipper, I just attached a snap clip for a coat and it holds it closed

I used gorilla tape to make a bigger light proof "flap" over all the zippers and sock seams. And to cover any pinholes.

I just sat in the tent and taped until it was pitch black.

Better safe than sorry.
