just put the seeds to germinate with the paper towel bowl method what i know i need to go buy some cfls not sure what wattage i need im just doin a simple soil grow with some shitty bag seed to try my green thumb any advice?

during seeding yes 2 bulbs for each plant.... dont go by wattage but look for the lumen output you want around 7000k lumens per plant...depending on how tall the plant gets u may want to buy more lights to place under and around the plant. you want 4500k (daylight bulbs) during seeding and vegging and switch to 2700k(soft white) during flowering some people mix during flowering putting 2 4500k and 2 2700k bulbs...for a simple grow like your i would go with the full spectrum cfl's as u wont need to change bulbs at all and u can use these bulbs throughtout the plants life cycle

ok 7000k isnt the amount of lumens the cfls put out, its the spectrum of color. the regular cfls will put out around 1500-2800 lumens, different than the k spectrum

k is for color temp not lumen output lumens are how bright it is k is the color spectrum 6500k is blue hued light 7000 lumens is what you meant to say no need for k

^thats what i said or at least was trying to say. no need for a fucktard comment. its a little immature and uneeded, especially for someone who was in fact in the wrong

get as many cfls as you can fit in your grow, as many watts per bulb as you can. make sure you get cool white for veg and warm white for flowering. keep the bulbs about 4 inches from your plants or the leaves will start to curl and turn yellowish. make sure you keep your temps down if you are running alot of bulbs or high wattage. i've found that anything over 120 watts per square foot, and you'll have to run a high cfm fan to pull in cool air. also look into putting in cool air inlets that pull chilled air from under your house through tubes into the bottom of your grow room. and exaust your air through the top. what kind of a setup are we talkin about here? more info plz.

also check out bulbs.com. they have alot of nice cfls for under 100$ even a bulb that puts out 800w for the cost of running two regular 100w incadescent bulbs.

like i said tho, cool white for veg, warm white for flowering.

btw. hawaii, chill the fuck out, dude. you are a major buzz kill.
