Whats the best cost effective lights? I have a 9 square foot closest.

Depends what your objective is. There's a lot to consider, more than just the lights themselves. For example, HPS lights generate a lot more heat, so you're going to need to spend more on climate management.

If you're going for pure weight--yield/watt efficiency--most ppl will tell you MH/HPS.

Low overhead and low upfront investment, look into CFL.

If you can afford some upfront investment, look into LED. Typically these generate the least heat of all light types.

Read through the entire beginners guide on growweedeasy.com and you'll start to have an idea of the kind of investment you're looking at to start your grow. Always find a light's (or any gear for that matter's) wattage draw from wall rating before buying it. A "300w" LED grow light wont draw anywhere near 300w from the wall.

I use a kill-a-watt power tester to test the draw of every element of my grow so I know exactly my total cost/month.

Any light type can grow great weed, provided you use the right configuration.

Yea I bought a 1000 watt king led plus and come to find out it's only pulling around 210 watts witch is really upsetting because I only have about 9 square feet and I'm going for max yield. Any ideas what I can't expect I have about 9 plants

I'd recommend an LED. They are a little more pricey to purchase, depending on the brand, but in the end will pay for itself. The electricity cost is much cheaper and the lights tend to not have as many issues. Also, since LEDs dont really put off much heat, you dont have to have a cooling system running to cool it off.

mars have a great rep, im really happy w my viparspectra as well. Im considering upgrading to an Advanced Platinum at some point and as far as ive heard and read AP LED lights are the shit.

Hello I tried CFL light then I tried T5s then I tried those pinkish purple Led lights too. I got lucky and got a prototype from Draco Led Systems. I have a grow and it's only 200 watts. I love my grow the pineapple express takes up most of my 3x3 tent

No I have a 3 x 3 closet with 9 2 gallon buckets.but I'm sure I will have to get a few out when it comes time to sex them. How much dry weight you think I will get off this 1000 watt led that is actually pulling only about 210 watts

This is my closet set up

Thats a really tough question to answer because it hinges on too many factors over a long period of time. Even your light can vary greatly while maintaining wall draw. 130 watts from an advanced plat light is not equal to 130 from a marshydro.

when youre part way through budding post some pics and ppl will try and estimate for you.

also, a single well scrogged plant will fill that entire 3x3 space. the way you manage has a huge effect on yield.
