Limoncello Tincture

Anybody here have experience with flavoring tinctures with citrus? I'm using a potent everclear extraction (tincturish) to make a small batch of limoncello. So I'm worried that the citric acid or some other compound in the lemons with react with the cannabis compounds. I've got a small test batch going right and I'm taking samples as the lemons are being soaked and the results are pretty outstanding so far, the flavor is only getting better. And the potency is keeping, at least for now. But, I do have a serious concern about the shelf life. Anyone with experience in such things can consider themselves encouraged to speak up about it.

Soooo, this appears to be a pretty damn outstanding way to consume! Certainly my new favorite way of ingesting, at least. It's similar to eating it but comes on so much faster. And the lemon zest makes it taste like candy, literally, it tastes like lemon drops. And I would assume that the same thing can be done with any citrus; tangerine, clementine, blood orange, meyer lemon, etc... This for real, real just opened up some pretty big doors for me when it comes to getting a buzz! People that can't smoke should definitely try this out!

Never mind, the tincture actually turned into a titration of sorts. It seems like the cannabis products in solution reaccumulated into a fine grain that floated freely like sand. I ended up with a mediocre limoncello that doesn't have any effect outside of the alcohol. Shame... It tasted good and started promising.

Any updates on new iteration?

Citric acid actually slows the degradation of Cannabis tinctures, there's a patent about it somewhere I think. I wouldn't put it in anything you intend to smoke though. But yeah the cannabinoids would not stay dissolved if there's a bunch of water in there.

lemon has oils in it , am i correct? the water is missable with alcahol so should be desolved into the tinture

you need lots of bud/leaf to make a tincture if my experimentsare anything to go by, i ended up evaping the alcahol and making a thin stickyish shatter that balled up and could be rolled out like good old squidgy black hash. great smoke

Yeah the water can mix with the alcohol but after a certain amount the extract is no longer able to stay dissolved because it is not mixable with water. Why not just use alcohol alone and add a drop of two of lemon or orange essential oil if you want the flavor? Using lemon juice won't work because there's way more water than essential oil. To consume the flavored tincture you would need to mix it with something that has some oil/fat in it, like make a milkshake or a smoothy with some vegetable oil added.
