Liquid Testing different colors in different lighting!?!

I put 5 drops of the pH test indicator, and the liquid is orange, take into the tent under my 6500 K T5's, it turns neon lime green out of nowhere. I hate liquid testing, I had lockouts early on. Just bought the Etekcity pH meter (Looking upgrade after this grow) and it's decent, but I always use both for a second opinion.

I'm dead serious, that thing, once it goes into the tent turns lime green. I was about to freak out since I just got this meter.

I swallowed hard and bought a BlueLab combo meter, and used the fuck out of it for 4 years, quick math put it in the neighborhood of 20,000 uses. Wore it out and got a new one. Rock solid reliable instrumentation is worth every penny.

Think if it like glasses; who cares how much you saved if you can't see what you're doing?

...Beer goggles excepted, of course...

This etekcity meter been doing me good so far, but its iffy. I give it a 6/10. I'm only growing like one plant scrog at a time in soil so I don't think what I use is too big of a deal.

Can you evaporate chlorine from tap water indoors? I put it in milk jugs and then I just leave the caps off. Does it need light?

Some people say doing so is useless anyways since chlorine levels aren't even that high.

Bulletproof_Love, I have the same problem with the liquid. Under 5000k it looks under 5 ph but under 6500k it looks 6.0-6.5. Atleast once a grow I screw up my ph.

I tried an experiment for myself, as I use GH drops to test my pH

I used several light sources from direct sunlight, shaded sunlight, 6500K, 5000K, 2700K CFL's, as well as 2700K & 5K LED bulbs, and a few other types of household lights, and I never seen a difference....each light source I tested provided the same colour indication.

Lucky you. Idk. I'm using the same general hydroponics testing liquid. And as you can see in the picture my meter reads 6.24, but the liquid appears orange, but under my grow lights the liquid becomes lime green. I can't tell what it is but I'll just keep using both anyways.
