sorry again man, your right, A p.H pen or the cheap tester kit would be a good idea.
Ocean forest is known for having P.H. issues and your not adjusting the p.h of your water, you could be locking out the cal/mag Here is a chart that helps explain this.

my bad bro, you are correct. i didn't see all of the info in the original post. i read it wrong the first time. either way, i would look into a pH testing kit. you need to test the pH of the water and nutrients you feed your plants. if you plan on growing for a while and getting more involved with larger plant numbers then i would also look into a soil pH tester. testing the runoff of your pots is not the most accurate way to judge the pH of your medium.

on a side note...i've been a member a lot longer than 1 month and i've had journals and very informative threads on grow room design, construction, water cooling equipment, etc... i recently changed accounts. do a little research and you'll see the types of plants i grow.
