So lets start this from the concerns.
1. Compared to soil grows my stems are fukkin anorexic in my 100% perlite grows..although it doesnt affect my yield. (Atleast I hope not) can anyone explain if this is because I veg under t8s? I got a fan circulating on them but that doesnt do justice.
2. Would switching to coco with perlite rez benefit me anymore than 100% perlite?
3. Might be a bit off subject but what fan/filter combo does one recommend for a 4x4...im clueless on how much cfms and stuff I need especially to match the filter.
4. Ive seen people with water leafs bigger than hands even..mine are never huge like the soil guys....am I doing somethinf wrong or is that just my results from vegging under t8s?
5.I feed every watering low ppms...but somehow I get a deficiency and burns at the same damn time..wtf is up with that...dialing in these things are tricky to me still :(

1. I also thought about this yrs back, IMO it's due to the accelerated growth with the passive hydro. I don't think T-8's are the problem. I've been vegging with T-8 for yrs, this past winter I went to T5 in my veg box for 2 grows, and had many heat issues, so instead of changing my box ventilation I went back to T8.

2. I personally like coco better than perlite just for it's moisture retention. I still use a coarse perlite in the rez on my hempy buckets.

3. A 4x4 tent is about 128 cubic ft. a good 4" inline fan will change out the air every couple of mins even with the resistance of the carbon filter. As far as size of carbon filter, get the largest you can fit in your tent. The larger the filter the less drag on the fan which is better for fan life and the larger the filter the longer it lasts.

4. Not sure about this. Most I see with the huge leaves have had very long veg. And are very large plants, indoors I'm working for quick cycles.

5. Spit out some more details on your feeding. Are you in hempy or straight drain to waste?

You should do 50/50 coco and perlite that's what I do. Hands down the best. I also run OG in loose fill grodan. Flowers blow up compared to coco but seem to get same yield. I just started vegging under a 400 MH. Was using t5 for 2 years and the plant clearly shows it is stronger now. Cell walls are much more durable and immune system of the plant is much much better. If you can go with atleast 250w MH. Difference is night and day for the healthiness off your plants. Pretty sure also that you should only start clones under t5s or whatever you use. Yes you can veg them longer under that too as well but like I said will not be as healthy and strong

Are you testing ph? Keep it between 5.8-6.2 and what about your nutes what are you feeding them
