Little Help Please...Rockwool

Hey guys little help, I started four seeds in a cup of distilled water. three of them cracked and the root started to push out. I transfered these to 1" rockwool cubes. I have these in a dark place until i see the first set of green then they're going in 24/7.

With one of the seeds the root wasn't quite pushed out but the seed sank in the water so i'm assuming it cracked. I transfered this one to the rockwool too.

Do you guys think that this was to early?

I felt kind of rushed to put the other three in rockwool because the roots were popping out, so i only had the rockwool soaking in water with a ph of 5.5 for 8 hrs is that enough?

One more question, how often should i water the rockwool before the leaves start to pop out?

I soak mine 24hrs before doing clones,never tried beans yet.I put them right into soil since I grow in soil.I would treat the beans the same as far as watering.Cube should be soaked plenty for them to sit untill the plant pops ground or cube.Then maybe once every other day for a spell should about do it.With my seedlings in cups of soil I only watered 1 time a week untill they got bigger and drank more.

I put my seeds into cubes as soon as they pop alsnce the seeds are in the cubes i put them into a shallow pan with a 1/4 in of water,this way they will not dry out between waterings.I do not plant them till i see roots coming from the cubes.Put them babbies under a light once they pop so they can start growing.OPH

just keep themwet.you would be better to put under a light. a cfl would be fine. and yes you can start seeds right in the soil also. good luck.

i appreciate the help guys, one more question though, should i keep them in the dark untill i see green or put them up under my cfl lights?

I'm basically following mr. green's how to grow chronic vid's on you tube. this is the first time i've done everything hydroponically.
