theres two schools on that...either it's whorled phyllotaxy, or it's triploid....or trifoliate to others still...depends who you want to stand in front of and start that whole argument with.

No it wasn't an auto. But it yielded just fine. I've had numerous trifoliate plants over the years and none suffered any yield. It doesn't matter if it's an auto or a photo. That plant will grow the same as if it had just 2 cotyledons. It's not something that is going to stunt the plant.
