Location, Location, Location!!

So.. by definition growing indoors requires a place to do so. There are a lot of factors to consider, such as not being near schools, churches, or parks. Also, features such as an attached garage I think would be a requirement also. For most people renting is the only option, myself included. Keeping landlords happy would be very important, visitors are definitely a threat to a garden.

When looking for a location, what are the key factors that you look for? Urban/Suburban/Rural etc. I have a stable place now but is unsuitable for that hobby. I'm looking at perhaps 6 months to a year to find to save up and find that perfect place! Any advice would be greatly apprecaited, thanks.

it would be good to know your state or what country you are in. Then we could tell you the specific regulations and what not in your area. Where i live it has to be in an industrial area or you can't grow at all. It also has to be a commercial grow not a hobby.

When I was wasn't growing legally, I made a makeshift thing. Got an old dresser gutted the inside, made it so I could open the middle area, but kept everything seemingly in tact for appearance purposes obviously, kept it in my garage, which is obviously closed off from anyone seeing, and didn't over do it on the lights, 200-400 watts at most.... If you don't have a garage, which it doesn't seem like you do, just keep the dresser inside make it seem like its actually in use, stick a febreze on top of it. have cut outs behind the dresser and keep it close to an outlet, and make sure you have good cable management!

Just an idea and something similar to what I did :/

Good luck friend

I'm not so sure location really matters. What matters when growing under the radar is stealth (cabinet, dresser, anything that doesn't "look" like a grow cabinet/tent) and managing how you handle smell and noise. In your case a small micro/stealth cabinet could grow enough for personal but anything bigger doesn't sound like a god idea in your current location. If you get your own place or somewhere the landlord isn't going to show up unannounced you can go bigger but otherwise a small/micro/stealth cabinet would work...

There are some great post/ideas in this forum if you want to go that way…

Homes with large unfinished basements top my list.

Always control odor / light leaks and keep yard clean, you should be able to grow anywhere.
