It really depends on a lot of things, like strain, grow style (like scrog), aggressiveness of the plant, etc. If your starting in veg I would wait until there is a considerable difference between the top 2/3rds and the bottom third. This way you have an idea of how thick the stems will be and you know what will be larf. Personally I do a good complete lollipop at day 10 of flower with only some maintenance pruning in veg.

Lollipoped right as I flip ...how I always do it great results sexy canopys. Right there is how its done....ive even stripped some foliage off the plant in the first week of flower...no hermis all good
