Long Term Storage??

I finished my spring crop about 7 weeks ago. I harvested a little over 3lbs. I have used 1lb to make bho for my hubby's medicine. I gave 1/4 lb to another patient, and I still have most of the remaining 1 3/4 lbs. I don't like keeping all of this in my house. Has anyone tried making a time capsule thing out of pvc pipe and burying it? I have some dessicant and I planned on using the food saver to vacuum seal it before putting it in the container. Any opinions on whether this would work? Other ideas? I have it all in mason jars right now, and the rh is 55%.

You could get the humididy to about 35%, maybe? And just keep it in the jars? Don't know about vaccum, maybe that would be even better.

Honey oil is easier to stor and can be used as you wish weather vape add for food(great) or....Make's much smaller put in the fridge and it's virtually gone and when you have no herb put it on foil and smoke with a straw!! ....below 55% you risk drying it out too much....Pvc has some VOC's that would be released over a period of time and the "odor" might permiate the reffer! glass w/airtight heated in boiling water just like canning and bury but for no longer than 6-8 month's before you will notice degradation of cannibinoid's....this might help my friend...I have nevr had it last more than 8-9 month's with out degradation! and that was flash freezing!!jack

I make the honey oil for my husband, and I will probably use another lb for that, but I don't like the oil so much myself, and with my little setup it takes a while to process a lb into bho! I prefer smoking my buds it or making bubble hash. I thought about putting it in the freezer. If I could get it to last 6 months without degradation I would be pretty satisfied. Thanks for the input.

You can get 7-9 month's in freezer just make sure no moisture in jar's good luck..I love honey oil, just to hard on my lung's!! don't use my vape for same reason! I useually sit about 60% when I freeze!!some varieties different? weird but true...Make bubble hash too sometime's too hot...my favorite is the keef off of a small tumbler I made....WOW almost too good sometime's just have to sit down!! you could make a small keif set up...if you wanted..

If you pack it properly (vacuum packed or tightly closed jars/bags if possible) and make sure you have a dark, low temperature and low humidity place to store it, you can store weed for years.
The most important part is to make sure no light gets to your stored goods and that moisture and temperature is kept low.

Curing will have stopped @ 55% humidity so you can store it safely now.

I have saved some for over a year without any degradation flavour or odour wise, I'd even go as far to say the weed improved.
But it is absolutely key to keep humidity and temperature low (not extremely low though) and not allow any light to protrude.

But it is hard to keep the potency of the weed for so long, a boost in flavour and odour should be apparent and tiny loss of potency cannot be avoided but if you do it right it should not be that noticeable.

It all depends on whether you cure the weed properly before you store it and it depends on you storing it properly are a good cure.

I have a comercial grower friend in cali send's me seed's twice a year mostly seed's no fast enough for him...nevile's haze G13/haze and LSD...let me know north shore boston.......jack..also have clone's too right now...not for too long!.

Sounds good, curing stops @ 55% so you're alright.
I pack the jars & bags 3/4 max.
Looking like it'll be a good harvest :weed:
