Long time lurker first grow

First and foremost I would like to say thanks to everyone here at RIU. I have been lurking here for months reading and preparing for my first grow. The amount of info here is great and helped me tremendously.
So this is what I have done so far:
36 x 36 x 78 grow tent
Lighting is on 24hrs
Soil-FFOF
Nutes-also fox farm
Water ph: with or without nutes have been about 6

1. Started 5 regular(not feminized) THC Bomb seeds. 3 seed were successful and is what I am growing now.

2. After germination they were moved to 1 quart peat pots, and then placed under 2 x 100w 6500k cfl’s after sprouting.

3. About two weeks later I saw roots coming from the bottom if the pot and they were transplanted into 1gal plastic pots and placed under a 95w 24” HO T5 light. After 2 weeks I started FF nutes at about ¼ strength with every other watering. Alternate watering has been with 1 ½ tablespoon of molasses per gallon. Topped all three pants (started my first ever clones) as well as began LST.

4. This weekend they were transplanted to 7gal cloth pots and placed under my new 400w MH/HPS light about 18-24” above the plant tops. I also pruned a bit from under the plants and more LST.

5. I plan on about 2 more weeks of veg and start changing the lights to 18/6 for a week, then 14/8 for a week then to 12/12 for their remaining time.

That’s where I am as of today. It seems that so far so good. Although I had a bit of nute burn from my last feeding this should resolve readily now that there in new soil. I hope!

I do have a question about lighting. Are there any real differences in quality of light output between any of the various MH or HPS bulb vendors?

hmm i would go from 18/6 through out veg and go 12/12 when flowering after a 2 days dark period. I never saw the importance of reducing light hours to 14/10 or did you really mean 14/8? before vegging. Use mh while veg and when flowering go hps for better result. Plants looks good. my water is at 6.5 but if yours are healthy dont change it. 6.2-6.8 is recommended. oh btw nice looking tent

The tent is LED Wholesalers GYO1005A 78-Inch x 36-Inch x 36-Inch Mylar Reflective Hydroponic Grow Tent off amazon. Its pretty much all i could afford right now. The cost of building something would have been way more. Trying to do this on a budget, but after extensive reading here on RIU better to best materials yeilds better to best results it seems.

Cant wait for grow 2, just fot some G13 pineapple express, White widow, Big Buda Cheese and thinking of trying to get some GDP seeds too. Yummy....

I do have a question about lighting.
Are there any real differences in quality of light output between any of the various MH or HPS bulb vendors?

Subscribed. Yours is one of the only grows with THC Bomb only. I am interested to see how they progress. I have 5 of the same strain going myself in a THC Bomb grow journal. 2 Mothers and 3 more feminized seeds I had left-over. My mothers are in their first week of flower and the 3 babies are in their second week since birth. Feel free to check out my thread. I will be checking out yours. Nice plants, keep making them happy.

Way past time for an update..My last pics were just after transplanting from 1 gal pots to 7.5 gal smart pots.

cant answer ur lighting guestion, but i will say ur doing very well for what u have

To tell the truth I wouldn't think so..some companies say their bulbs are the best somehow, but I don't think there are actually a whole lot of differences

the only difference that hits me right off is getting a dual spectrum bulb, but thats not really a manufacturer detail. more of general bulb details

Thats kinda what it thought..But various companies make statements (They all do) about how their product is superior and why. So i just thought it would be worth taking a look at. every advantage is worth looking into..

I also forgot to mention that at the changeover to 12/12 i started a 1L per hour c02 snack for the girls during the lights/exhaust fan off 12hr cycle. I still keep the 2 circulation fans going though.

Thought i would post an update. Took these pics last night. I currently am at week 3.5 of flower with my THC bomb girls. Everything seems to be going well.

Everything is looking good. When I first read this I had a few concerns but guess they where pointless. Lol. You made it work. As for the light question. Other then dual spectrum bulbs there isn't really a difference. A good bit of them are made by Phillips. Just to the venders specs. And if you look at the spectrum diagram on any of them. There all the same. Even between the diffent wattage. And that's not right. That should change. So somewhere they all copied it from somewhere. And all testing is done at the brightest point of the reflector. Under the corners and not under the light. So no real difference. But the difference I have found is how long they last. The cheeper they are the sooner they drop lumens. And that's around 10-11 months. A few others like hortalux start around 12-14 months. But that's why it's a good idea the replace them yearly. Just because the light comes on dosnt mean it works. Atleast in the aspect we growers need it to. Hope that clears a little up. Happy growing.

Thanks for the light info, i was just curious i guess. These bulb companies always state theirs is better than so and so's bulbs. So i thought iw was worth checking out.

You said you had come concerns in the beginning, just curious as to what they were. i always look to improve as i go, so if i fixed it purposly thats great but if it was unintentional i guess it would be good to know for the future grows...as i have Critical jack, white widdow and pineapple express ready to go into the tent when this THC Bomb finishes.
