I understand in a since, butdon't at the same time. Renown names can take on many definitions. Commerical can be renowned, great reviews with no commerical recognition can be renowned, etc... As far as cross' most strain on the market today are cross' of some sort, unless we are talking about landrace genetics. Trust me sometimes you are better going with a less renowed breeder than you are a world class breeder. Breeders trying to make it in the market, no always, but sometimes take more time out with there strains than renowned breeders. Take Barney's Farm for example,(In no way saying that they are a bad breeder) but anything that Barney's Farm puts out people will buy. They will buy because of the name, does that mean that every strain they put out is gold just because they are a renowed breeder, no, it just means that they can get away with putting out a couple of crappy strains, because they know there name will sell it.(That in no way is a pun for Barneys Farm I do like most of there genetics, it was just an example.) Didn't you hear that bigger is not always better. Just because you seen a breeder in High Times does not make them better than others, it just makes them more popular. Think about that before you go spending top dollar on strains you think are the holy grail because the breeder seems as you put it more renowned, and end up getting inferior genetics. Been there done that before.
