i built my own cab, got a 150w hps and use 2 cfls in a cardboard box to veg when alot of ventilation works good.. i spent maybe 400 bucks so far.

Hello, im new to this hole growing thing, but have done some research. i wanna get a grow box with LED Bulbs (Mixed Color for All Grow Stages), ventalation system ect. dont really need hydroponic system. I can water my self :P. but anyone know of where i can get a decent grow box for a good price, and that will give decent yield with 2-4 plants:leaf:.
Go to the U-Haul store and check out the wardrobe boxes. It comes with a metal crossbar at the top to hold hangared clothing. There are usually two heights. I bought the smaller one for $10-12. Line it with panda paper. Cut a small hole in the back to run a cord through, and fit a small 4" $10 desk fan (Walgreens). From Home Depot get 3 light fixtures ($7 each) with the 7" reflecter hood, and fit with a compact fluorexcent bulb. Home Depot sells the ones that have a 5000K blue light spectrum ($7-8 each). Dont forget a grounded power strip. Hang the lights from the metal crossbar and run the cords outside box top to powerstrip.
The wardrobe box comes with a flap that folds down from the top, its a bit awkward, but it can be modified. The top is completely open, but could be covered easily with a similar grade of cardboard. I also bought a couple small sheets of 1/2" compressed styrofoam (also from HD) to insulate the outside of the box from heat and cold. But be careful if you completely enclose it that the heat doesnt build up. You would need better ventilation.
The good thing about this set up is that clones LOVE it because it is a little on the warm and humid side. I set the fan on top of a small box and point it up at the lights to blow the heat out. I use this system as my primary veg room. It will fit 7-8 (1/2 gal) bags, and a dozen clones in 20 oz cups.
In the small wardrobe box, I allow plants up to about 18". The taller box should accomodate the taller plants. It doesnt sound like you will want really big plants anyhow. For flowering, of course, you would also need a timer, and a different light set (not too heavy), but it is completely do-able.

if you grow plants in a non medical state and someone smells plants growing it isnt gonna smell like fresh burnt pot.. its going to smell like fresh grown pot and it will smell your whole house up.. you need a carbon scrubber to keep the heat out, and to take the smell away..

Years back I bought a used chest of drawers at Value Village for $35 and easily converted it into a small super stealth cabinet by mounting the drawer fronts to a piece of finish grade plywood stained to match that fit tightly to the opening with all drawers removed. Strips of trim inset around the opening acted as stops for the removable false front plywood door and helped block any light leaks. While one middle drawer front's knobs were modified to become 1/4 turn stealth latches for the plywood door. I mounted (2) 150w HPS vertically inside to an adjustable homemade hood and painted everything ultra flat white inside. (3) 1" holes in the back near the bottom was for wiring access and passive air inlet, while (2) 12V PC fans mounted on the back near the top corners vented heat and CO2 out the cabinet. I divided it for a perpetual two stages of bloom, 1 month each with a 56 day strain. Several small negative ion generators kept odors in check and I already had a 5000 btu AC window unit to keep my bedroom cool in the summer.
We lived in an apartment complex that had lots of drug activity related problems. And though the managers were fierce with their eagle eyes and bloodhound noses, none were the wiser.
