As we all know, it's nearly impossible to predict yield without a library of information. I've done extensive research and am ready to ask the question. What would be the most efficient way to design this box for maximum yield? I am looking to grow mainly indica plants such as Northern Lights for medical purpose. I was thinking of starting two plants, topping them once their ~14" and using the manifold technique to create two somewhat linear shaped plants in order to fill out my box. I'd be more than happy to hear others tips on maximizing efficiency in my box. Keep in mind I will be constructing an Ebb & Flow hydroponics system once I order my water pump within the next few days.
The first thing you'll probably point out is the fact there is little/no ventilation passing through this box. Being my first box, I didn't fully understand the concept of really pushing air until now. I have two vent filters layered protecting the intake from any air contaminants and will be installing a nice twin-fan ~200 CFM system on the bottom as the intake; and a 4" mixed-flow ~125CFM duct fan pulling air out on the top of the other side into my homemade carbon air filter (assuming this will lower the airflow although unsure on how much). There is also (not pictured) a 6" 120v fan I will be using to circulate air around the box.
I was also debating running a carbon dioxide tank to help ensure and stabilize good, reliable, faster growth. How much do the plants really benefit from running carbon dioxide on a grow box that might only contain two plants?
Currently missing the following: humidity and temperature controller, pH meter. Suggestions?
