Looking for employment at a dispensary.

Hello guys..I obviously love this forum.

I have a severe joint disease, causing severe pain for over 15 years.

I have 12 consecutive years in customer service and guest relations. I'm currently working at a restaurant as a supervisor, but I NEED to get into the cannabis industry.

Extremely knowledgeable in all aspects of cannabis, from the grow, to strain specifics all the way to cannabis alchemy.

My pics of my work can be found on the Colorado pic thread, I'll be posting one-two different oils a day..so check it out..maybe I can impress somebody.

I personally use cannabis geared more towards the medical aspect of the plant, but of course love the recreational aspect also.

With my whole adult life, I've suffered with severe pain, everyday, every minute..haven't been able to put on my own socks for five years or more.

Since Amendment 20 was implicated, I've dedicated each free moment I've had to soak in the knowledge needed to successfully treat my symptoms.

In conclusion, so many shops have budtenders that really don't know what they are doing, not knowing exactly what they are selling to legitimate patients..patients like myself, with serious health issues.

If any dispensary owners/workers/budtenders would be willing to at least get an interview...I can assure you will be pleasantly surprised at my charisma.

I'm well known for building and retaining sales.

I can guarantee I will boost sales, and increase the bottom line within a couple months.

Again...with my disease, I'm able to customize patrons selection of strains to best suit their needs.

I can honestly say..if one doesn't at least consider me for an interview, you could potentially lose an awesome employee.

My disease is full blown, and I can't handle the physical exertion.

Thanks for reading..and I hope I didn't violate any rules with this thread, if so I'll delete..

Thanks RIU!

Im assuming you already have your CO license to work in the industry, there are services that hook up operations with workers. Do a search!

Nice info...I have my standard card, with a significant plant count.

Looking to obtain my MIP license asap.(Marijuana Infused Product)

Is the MIP necessary for Budtenders?

No, MIP license would only allow you to have a large grow operation seperate from a dispensary and to make concentrates to sell to dispensaries you would not be able to sell flower though plus youll need alot of time and money( like thousands) to get it even going and you may not get it.

Have you done any research on this subject??

You will want to get a support employment license...And FYI, they are about 8 months behind

Craigslist has offered all budtending positions Ive ever seen, Including some minor "Trimming" jobs

It should not be difficult to land a job at one, either (minus the friend/connection aspect)

In my honest opinion at first I didn't read your OP because TL;DR, your experience blabber about those basic skills turned me away

Kudos for your ambitions but I suggest refining your directed image.

Just about everyone else 21+ applying for a dispensary would say the same as you
"I got my card for my severe injuries, im a people guy will increase income, I care for others"

I am not trying to bash you by all means, you sound like a possible version of me in the future

Also, do take note on the things you say. Suggesting that you can cause more sells, in theory, can be viewed as you're making more profit and also causing the patient to leave the store with more meds than they came in to purchase/need because buying MMJ is a prescription, not a "hey this is even danker, wanna sample a gram? $11 member pricing you pay now"

At least you sound more refined and an actual solid character/person than the majority of bud tenders that only know the difference between S/H/I or other brief info

Thanks for all the feedback gentlemen, I truly appreciate it, and no worries...

No offense taken what-so-ever...

The words written back to me were well-informed, and simply...honest.

Thank y'all for that, it is putting it into perspective for me.

From my perspective...it's not WHAT you know; it's WHO you know, and this is exactly why we have budtenders that are worthless.

I've only met ONE budtender that had any knowledge in regard to CBD/CBN.

I've had a few that sorta knew what they were talking about, but still unable to advise on a strain for pain.

It frustrates me, is all...haha.

Thanks again guys, you rule!

One thing to keep in mind when talking to these bud tenders, usually they are making less than $10 an hr, often minimum wage. Very few have a passion for the plant that we do, and i know as much as i love everything about it, i couldn't work for $10 an hour regardless.
Something to consider, basically everyone i know who has worked for a MMC has been completely fucked over by the company. This is an across the board issue, everything from growers not getting paid for the product, to people putting in their own time and money just to be screwed over in the end. One even took the Co to court, won and was awarded nothing at all.
I do have some buddies at a shop down your way, and i will put the word out in case they are looking for anyone. They are the only ones i know of who have not been screwed over, and produce the best meds in your area.
What exactly are you looking to do at a MMC? Grower, trimmer, budtender...... etc.

And to clarify..

When I mentioned” increasing sales”

Not intended for an increase at the point of sale...but more intended as in retention of current patrons.

As in, building a customer-business rapport.

Wow!..thanks Trueno!

I would absolutely love to be a budtender, it's my passion and my medicine.

My joint disease has become to physically excessive, and I need to change career fields...

If you could possibly work some magic, I'd be ever-so-grateful.

I love this forum...so many great people.

Bud tenders and trimmers are at the bottom of the totem pole. They both have high turn over rates so shouldn't be too hard to find somewhere to get your feet wet.

While I realize being a budtender is somewhat of a low-level position, and I understand the pay is not all that great.

With that being said, my recent endeavors into creating hash-oil, have literally changed my life, and my perspective of pain management.

The hash-oil is MORE effective than my prescriptions, and it's effect take holds immediately, as opposed to waiting for a fucking pill to” kick-in”

I hate the pills, but unfortunately, without them I can't even walk, as both hips are nearly completely fused, with bone spurs, bursitis, arthritis, and nerve damage.

I want patients in my same position, to come to the realization that pain relief is obtainable through the use of cannabis; natural, organic real medicine..without NASTY side-effects.

My dream is bigger than simply being a budtender, my dream job is to put an end to the Corporate Pharmas taking control of our lives with fucked up pills, when cannabis is a more effective treatment in many cases.

If I wasn't a restaurant supervisor, with many jobs to do and delegate out, I would utilize only hash-oil for pain management, however, I haven't been able to produce an oil that controls my pain, without getting STONED as fuck...lol

So for now, I'm stuck with the pills...but really soon, I'll be able to part with these pills with the use of hash-oil.
*cannabis user for life*---> both literally, and figuratively.

Why not start a delivery service?

Especially if you can roll out a nice, constistent line of your delivered meds/hash oil

You'd work with all aspects plus own the service... and cheaper in the long run!

^Great minds think alike me and my wife were just talking about that last night starting up a little delivery service....wouldn't that require a buiness license of some sort?

LOL, I was thinking of setting up a trimming service, (for personal gardens)

I mean hell, EVERYONE hates doing it...and honestly, it is one of my favorite activities. Hand trimming is one of my favorite parts of growing, and I know it sounds crazy...but I shit you not.

Just sorta show up with scissors, trim for like ten hours, then leave...Would be sick.

I'm with you on that. I'd always be down for helping anyone trim. Maybe I could get a cardboard sign "will trim for bud and conversation"
