It you want potent dont get autos! While you may find autos that are potent to the average person, real potent weed is not from any autos. I have only seen noobs grow autos to be honest.

I think autos can be potent though not as strong as the better photoperiod hybrids. BUT they don't produce nearly as much as photos even photos on 12/12. And the seeds are just as expensive as good feminized photos. There are a couple threads on the forum that talk about good 12/12 strains. Do a couple searches and you will find them.

i'm sure i have a few or more.. 
just do what the rest of us do, buy them from a seedbank, join auction sites where some rarer stuff goes up for grabs from time to time.. join a gentics trading site, riu is not one of those btw, no trading or selling of seeds or genetics permitted at all..

Racer is right, getting clones just leads to disease and fake genetics. I still get clones but I quarantine them for 3 weeks and I grow them out not keeping my hopes up. If your just starting out get seeds.

i don't live any where that getting clones is a common thing, but even if i did, idk, i have heard plenty of horror stories about things like powdery mildew and spider mites coming in from a clone and knocking out an entire garden..
not to mention like you're talking about nightmare, you really never can tell if you paying for say blue dream and ending up with cherry pie or w/e else in it's place when buying clones.. many people will simply sell you w/e you want regardless of whether or not it's really what they have..

Matanuska thunder fuck. If you can find it, will fit in the "rare and harder to find" catagory. I was recently gifted a small bud to enjoy. Wowee! Very potent and super trippy. I was glad I hadn't taken a second toke. I can't say with certainty it was the real deal, but whatever it was, the taste and buzz fit the general discriptions given by people who claim to be in the know. Not an everyday smoke for the likes of me, but certainly a unique strain to puff on once in a while.
The guy who gifted me didn't own the plant. I tried like hell to get a clone down through the chain of custody, but no dice. I've been looking at Dr. Greenthumb's seed version with high hopes and also a healthy dose of reality. I'd love to hear from someone who's tried them out. If they came close to the real deal, they would be worth the dough.

Ya ive herd good things about the Alaskan Thunder Fuck. But as like you, cant seem to find any seeds that are worth crap. I've seen a few people selling there version of the ATF. But no luck. Would give my right leg for some original or close to ATF. But anyway enough about me dreaming.
What you smoked was probably Doc Greenthumb's MTF. he is the only one who has real Matanuska Thunderfuck seeds. there are several crosses available at other seedbanks but if you want the genuine MTF go to greenthumb. they have a lot of other nice gear that you can't get anywhere else. i have never had a bad strain from the good doctor and in fact all the keepers I have came from them except Blue Dream
